  1. That is the problem. Vista should run fine on that hardware, it should be more than enough. Vista can't utilize hardware well at all though, so switch to XP.

  2. Windows Vista eats lots of your RAM memory for its internal purpose thus it will slow down your system. And with Vista you cannot avoid this.

If you have choice/able to get Windows XP then I suggest you to downgrade to Win-Xp.

  3. Hi,

I have a SONY Vaio too, and when I first got it going it was as slow as h**l.

There are a few things which you can do to make it a lot faster.

    Download PC Decrapifier: http://www.pcdecrapifier.com/download

    Download CCLEANER: http://www.ccleaner.com/download

Start > Search for Run > Type %temp% > Delete everything

Start > Search for disk cleanup > Remove all files

Start > Search for Disk Defragmenter > Start

Plz don't downgrade to XP it will mess up your drivers in other words all the things like the sound or the graphics.

Don't Downgrade, Give Vista a chance, Me use it on my Vaio

    Hope This Helps

  4. Today is your lucky day!  I'm almost sure that this will work for you.  Go to Power Options and select High Performance.  Also Download CCleaner and remove all startup programs that you do not use very often.  For more performance for your Vista you can view this article.

Also listen to that last person, downgrading may cause conflicts in your drivers hardware or cause some hardware not to work at all because it was designed for Windows Vista.  You have a powerful system and Vista should be running fine.

  5. There are a number of things that you can do. Remove unnecessary programs, prevent any spyware or adware and turn off certain features. Details are here http://www.ask-the-computer-doc.com/boos... and here http://www.ask-the-computer-doc.com/comp...
