I have a Sony Vaio laptop and I would like to connect my Sony CCD-TRV608 camcorder to it so that I may do some

editing and burn footage to DVD's. how do I go about doing this? what downloads and cables would I need? LOL use small words...I am not very tech savy.

  1. The Sony CCD-TRV608 is a Hi8 camcorder.

    Get the camcorder manual here:

    It has a USB port, but that will likely not handle transferring video from the tape. You can try, if it works, great - you will need a current USB driver, and I don't think Sony or Microsoft supports it anymore, so good luck.

    I don't want to leave with no options for you. If USB transfer does not work (or you can't get the drivers to work in your computing environment), you may need to go the analog route and use an analog/digital bridge like
