He cannot have tinned food as it makes his stools runny - doesn't really like Iams dried food but I have not given him any treats and now he eats it with a bit of persuasion but he has really bad wind after he has eaten it. I was told he had to have gluten free dried food when I bought him - What other gluten free dried foods is there and has anyone else had this problem with their staffordshire bull terrier????

  1. Im not really a dog person, but wind indicates that his digestive system is not coping very well with the food you are giving him.

The natural food for a dog is meat. Have you tried him on that?

  2. I don't own a Staffordshire Bull Terrier but have had other dogs with wind problems. Have you considered buying/ordering on line one of the grain free foods? I feed, on rotation, Innova Evo, Merrick's Before Grain and Nature's Variety Instinct. I'm not sure if you can get, I'm assuming your in the UK sorry if I'm wrong, Orejen(sp?) but that is supposed to be an excellent food. Hope this helps some.

  3. tinawarman@ymail.com, I wish I had a a staffordshire bull terrier.

  4. Well it's because he is being fed Iams. Try him on a more natural food such as Burns, however I am not sure if this is gluten free.

  5. Some breeds of dogs are gassy. I know I own 2 English Bulldogs however it's not as repulsive as it was before I got them on a good food. Iams is garbage. My EBD are now on Wellness and doing great yes they do still pass gas every now and then it's less then before and like I sad it dose not make me want to run out of the room.

Iams is very high in grain this can cause dog to be gassy and can cause skin problems it has corn wheat animal by-products get your dogs off this food it garbage. Merrick Innova Wellness Natures Variety. Are some good food.

  6. Hi i have 4 Staffies & they can be very windy dogs because their tummies can be so delicate...

We switched ours onto Orijen & it is wonderful!!! No more loose stools, & far fewer of them making garden clean up quick & easy! Their coats are fantastic on it as well...

  7. I own a staffordishire bull terrier aswell. We fed him on omega complete dried dog food but noticed his skin was dry so now he is on waggs complete dry dog food which he loves, it is full of the vits that he needs. His skin is great, his p**p is how it should be BUT as for wind sadly that comes with the dog lol. Staffys are known for this and sadly just do what  i do, invest in timed room fragrance out on timed for every 9 mins lol
