I have a Sterns & Foster matress

It cost me almost $4000 but it has been in storage for over 3 years since Katrina and I would like to know how, if possible, I can clean it and still be able to use it. It wasn't damaged from flood waters, it just is very "stale" and could use a good cleaning if I knew how. Please help.

  1. Sprinkle it with baking soda and let the baking soda sit on it for 24 hours then vacuum.  If that doesn't get rid of all the staleness try the same thing with cornstarch.  Your mattress should be fresh after that.

  2. I would set it out in the sun for a day - sunlight is a natural disinfectant.
