  1. Try this link

    http://www.ticalc.org

    for lots of info

  2. Unless you're fluent in the 'assembly' programming language or something, I doubt you would be able to just go and make a computer program and transfer it to a TI calculator with no experience in even basic commands. I don't know basic.

You're better off just downloading already made programs from the internet onto your calculator. Everyone always says to go to www.ticalc.org, so do that, although just giving you that site with no further information (like almost everyone does) may not be of much use to you if you've never done any of this before.

I believe you need to make an account on that website and 'register' your calculator there, and then downloard the 'TI-Connect' programs onto your computer. There are instructions on the site that show you how to do that if you explore it enough under the link corresponding to your calculator. (They come with instructions.) The 'TI-Device Explorer' that comes with the 'Connect' programs, is what is used to pick up your calculator's reception and transfer programs.

When you plug your calculator into the USB port, just open up the 'TI-Device Explorer' program, and it should have a list of connected devices that includes your calculator. In order to find programs, you need to download programs onto your computer, and then right click to 'send to TI-device' (or just drag the program) to your calculator on the list. After that, the program should show up in your calculator's memory. All the programs you will ever need can be found on www.ticalc.org. Also keep in mind that some programs require 'shells' such as 'Mirage OS' or 'ION' in order for them to function. As far as I know, only the 'basic' programs and 'flash' applications, among anything else, can be directly transfered to your calculator with no other requirements. There also seems to be problems with some of the more popular programs transferring right if you use a Mac.

P.S. Keep in mind, that having external programs on your calculator can cause graphic and memory display glitches if you leave them there long enough. I've seen it happen. If that happens, try clearing the Ram, but not the archive. (Try to archive your programs as soon as you get them. Basic programs don't work if they're archived, but flash applications and pretty much everything else does. To archive something, go to the memory interface and select it in the list so there's a star next to it. Removing the programs also probably should fix any of these glitches if you think they're more trouble than they're worth.)

  3. if you have the silver edition you can but i dont kno about the regular ti84
