I have a Technics SU-V300 amplifier that is now much quieter out of the left channel. Can I repair it?

If I listen from different input channels (CD, AUX etc.) or if I use headphones or speakers the effect is the same. I suspect it might be something like the capacitors or something like that but I'm not an engineer. This item has a lot of sentimental value so if I could replace something I would love to do that. Please point me in the right direction!! thanks.

  1. I would open it up and see if you see some capacitors they are swelled or leaking.  If you do get that lucky then hopefully they will be marked so you can easily find replacements.

  2. You need your local hifi repair engineer. Try the phone book.
