Question:

I have a Toshiba Satellite Laptop, when I power it up, the display only stays on 4 a sec & then stays off....?

  1. when you hook a monitor to the back on the monitor output, does computer still work? if yes, the dc to dc screen inverter may have a bad transistor. toshiba may have a pdf service manual you can download, you can disassemble your computer. the monitor runs on hi voltage, sounds like when it warms up it can't produce enough current.

    if the monitor you just hooked up does not work, or computer wont boot, you may have another issue. make sure batteries are charged. remove them  and put them back. some times batteries can cause system to act up. good luck


  2. Hi, This could be a heat related problem caused by dust and stuff blocking the airflow acros the CPU chip.I have seen this happen a lot with Tosh Satellites and therefore  I would suggest taking it to a reputable repair shop for attention.

  3. may be battery problem. plug the power and try. problem not solved means it may be a hardware problem contact a service centre. kardevi143@yahoo.co.in
