I have a Trek 850 CroMoly frame mountain bike with some rust. How much can I sell it for? Thanks!?

It was purchased in 1995, rode for 2 weeks and it's been in storage ever since.

Its junk.   The first thing any buyer would ask about a steel framed bike is about rust.   Rusting for over 10 yrs?    Egads......Not to mention the 850 isnt exactly a top end machine.

Not alot. Rust means it was'nt stored properly. And since it's been sitting for over ten years, the botton bracket and hubs will have to be re-greased.. $50, if your're lucky...The tires and tubes may also have to be replaced.

I'd just donate it to Goodwill and take a tax write off.  A brand new 820 is only about $250, and it's a way better bike than a ten year old 850.
