Question:

I have a UTI help?

Is there any way to get rid of a UTI (urinary tract infection) other than antibiotics? I know that cranberry juice helps, or does it cure it? And they make pain relief medicines over the counter for it, but they are not a cure, so is there any way because I don't have health insurance and I don't really want to go to the doctor.

Thanks.

  2. no cranberry juice, pills does not cure a UTI. Go to the doctor. !!

  3. I have tried everything that is out there over the past 10 years dealing with my constant uti's. The only thing that worked well enough everytime was d-mannose.

  4. simply use cranberry whole fruit concentrate

  5. Take cranberry juice capsules 3x daily, garlic capsules 3x daily, (garlic is a natural antibiotic) Vitamin C 500 mg every two to three hours, and drink LOTS of filtered water.  It takes longer than the Cipro and Pyridium the doc would prescribe, but it will work.

  6. Drinking at least 16 ounces a day of cranberry or blueberry juice (not the sugar-sweetened variety) can have a preventative and therapeutic effect. These juices have antibiotic properties that interfere with the ability of bacteria to adhere to the bladder or urethral tissue. Choose a juice sweetened with apple or grape juice.

A naturopathic physician may prescribe that one of these herbal preparations be used 3 to 4 times per day during a urinary tract infection:

        * Goldenseal root – This herb has a long and well-documented history as a powerful antimicrobial agent. Use as a tea made from 1 tsp of dried herb per cup of hot water; in capsule form (1000 mg); or as a tincture (1 to 2 teaspoons in warm water).

        * Uva Ursi – Clinical research proves traditional use as an antiseptic with soothing and strengthening properties. Use as a tea made from 2 tsp of herb per cup of hot water; or as a tincture (1 to 2 teaspoons in warm water).

Other herbs to consider as tea:

        * Cleavers (Galium aparine) has a long history of use in treatment of urinary infections.

        * Marshmallow root (Althea officinalis) has very soothing demulcent properties. Best used in "cold infusion." Soak herb in cold water several hours, then strain and drink.

        * Buchu is a soothing diuretic and antiseptic for the urinary system.

        * Corn silk (Zea Mays) is a soothing diuretic.

        * Horsetail (Equisetum arvense) is an astringent and mild diuretic with tissue-healing properties.

        * Usnea Lichen is very soothing and antiseptic.

Also be sure to drink 2 to 3 liters of water daily.

UTI's can get serious if not treated. Not to mention they are seriously painful!!! If it doesn't clear up in a day or so go to the doctor.  A visit to urgent care shouldn't cost more than a couple hundred dollars.

  7. There is a natural sugar call D-Mannose that works wonders for UTIs.  It can be bought at most natural health stores.

D-Mannose prevents e-Coli (the # 1 cause of UTIs) from sticking to the bladder.  Since it is not an antibiotic the e. coli cannot become resistant to it.  It can even be used daily as a preventative, if you get a lot of UTIs.

  8. As far as my knowledge, this is a question with various answers,it is really depending on the mind of yourself, providing a great resource here for reference though.http://health-insurance.onlinebestoffer....
