Question:

I have a Ubuntu startup problem?

Hello everyone! I have recently used WUBI to install Ubuntu and I am really enjoying it. But recently I have installed wine to be able to play Global MU just for fun. But now when I start up Ubuntu after the loading page goes up, it puts me in a black screen telling me to type help for a list of commands. Could someone please tell me the command to make it startup normally or is there something I should do. And please, do not tell me to install another version of Linux because that really would do me no good and would slow down my computer. Thanks!

  1. Try pressing

    CTRL+ALT+F7

That will usually take you back into the graphical part of your computer. Maybe something got messed up on boot.

If that doesn't work, your XSERVER may have crashed. Xserver is what runs everything graphical on Linux.

I've had luck in the past repairing it. I just start Ubuntu into recovery mode and I pick the xserver option. It probes the hardware and tries to fix it. It has always worked for me.
