  1. VHS is already obsolete, but I still have seen some big stores sell vhs movies real cheap.  You won't see the latest movies on vhs.

Regular DVD (4.7 gb) is still okay for now.  Dvd recorders are not too expensive now, so if you get that, at least it can do two things, instead of just a player.

If you get one, get a good name brand, and a newer model, that way there will be less or no compatibility issues.

But, now the new thing are HD DVD (max 30 gb) and the Blueray disc (max 50 gb).  These offer superior picture quality and larger storage capabilites.  Both of these are expensive.

  2. they sell DVD players at target for like 30 bucks... just the basic one disc player.

  3. VCR's are on the way to the dumpsters all over the world as we speak. But, you can still find VHS movies. Shop at www.half.com and see how inexpensive they are! I've sold most of my VHS tapes for around 1.00 each.

You won't find any new releases in the VHS format but if you don't need to watch new movies, you'll be fine.

  4. YOU COULD ALWAYS ASK FRED FLINTSTONE IF HE WANTS YOUR VCR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!LOL

SERIOUSLY GET A DVD PLAYER OR EVEN A HARD DISC DRIVE DVD PLAYER(HDD PLAYER). THEN YOU CAN RECORD ONTO THE MEMORY, & NOT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT STORING TAPES ANYWHERE.

YOU CAN GET EITHER REASONABLY CHEAPLY.
