Question:

I have a VGA to rca/s-video connector. What do i have to do to get the picture to come up clear on my TV?

Right now it is barely coming in scrambled. I was told when i bought the connector all i would have to do is hook it up. Any help would be great, thanks.

  1. Sorry, VGA to s-video may not going to work without a converter box in between.

    VGA is RGB and S-video is Luma/Chroma color difference.

    S-video is also SD only, so the max resolution on the PC should be 480.


  2. It might depend on what you're trying to connect to your TV and if your TV is an HDTV.

    If it's a computer, then you might be able to adjust your PC's "scanning frequency".  A non-HDTV can only handle a 30Hz scanning frequency.  You might also try to change the PC's output from "non-interlaced" to "interlaced".

    Now if you're trying to connect an HD video device (cable box, XBOX 360, etc.) to a non-HDTV then you probably won't be able to adjust the video output on those devices outside of the resolution (480p, 720p, 1080i, etc.).  Changing the output might help.
