I have a VW '02 Passat that I'm thinking about trading for a Volvo S40. Which do you think is the better car?

As far as the S40 goes I've been looking at the '04 to '08 model. I test drove it couple times and liked it, but I don't know how solid or reliable it is for the long run. I love my Passat GLX AWD, but it's repairs are starting to get the best of me and my money. I love VW's but you can't service them anywhere else but the dealer without someone s******g them up! Not to mention VW's brutal labor prices...Is the car that hard to work on? But for them to be so reliable it doesn't seem like they stand behind their cars as much as Volvo does. So what I need from you guys is more Volvo feedback. Thanks.

VW's are a much better car than Volvo's. It lasts twice as long. Although they are expensive to maintain they are a much better car. they last as long as civics and they also are pretty fast. i have owned both a volvo and a volkswagen and i would take the wolkswagen anyday.

both cars on the list as used cars to avoid.

but if you thought the VW service and parts were expensive wait till you see the Volvo dealers going rate.

avoid Volvo, Audi, Saab and Jeep they are unreliable.

see as per i am concern i think Volvo s40 is good and is more safe and luxurious.....looks r good as per i like...i would prefer s40 rather then vw passat!!!!and i suggest u to have it!

or else miss the fun!.!!..!
