I have a Vauxhall Astra 2005, How do I remove the factory fitted stereo and to replace it with a JVC? DIN?

I have an existing factory fitted double DIN stereo but want to purchase a single DIN stereo. How do I remove the double DIN stereo and install the single DIN stereo and also how do I cover the gap that there will be?
