I have a Visa Debit Card.?

You know like a check card... does it work the same as using a credit card? Can I make online purchases?? and if it is possible..is there an extra charge like when u use a credit card... or is it just like using my debit card at wal-mart or sumthin.... they take out what they are supposed to and thats it??

  1. It doesn't work the same as a credit card. A credit card has a limit on what's given to you once you've applied and been approved. A debit card is attached to your checking account at your bank and takes out the money you have available in your account. You can make online purchases, book hotel rooms (but some require an credit card once you've purchased the room. Hint: Go to a third party site like hotels.com or something like that to have it already paid for). You can shop online, but make sure you have enough money in your checking account to cover the costs. There's no extra charge unless you go to a gas station and pay at the pump, it could have a holding fee of $50 or less. I hope this helps.

Check card works just the same as a credit card-- the only difference is that the money's taken from your checking account.  You can use it for online purchases, and they won't charge you an extra fee, just the amount you're paying for.  Depending on which bank you use, you'll be charged a monthly fee for using the check card.
