I have a advent intel pentium dual core laptop?

its only 4 months old and has already been to the repair shop so would lie to try and avoid this again ..heres the problem back light went on it so tried to system recover it and now it just keeps coming up that there is a hardware configuration problem and to check boot path or disk hardware. i dont really want to start messing around with it without knowing a bit about what i should do can anyone help please

Repairing the backlight should be possible on your laptop http://www.trilogicuk.co.uk. Why have you attempted system restore as this is not related to a backlight failure? You can alter the boot order by entering cmos and changing the order to cd rom first, then the system restore will operate.

You need to enter BIOS (press Del or F1, the correct one is on the first screen that appears when you start it) and set the correct settings there for the boot path/order and check if the hard disk is correctly detected. The easiest way is to select the Defaults.

You should check in Windows if everything is ok.
