  1. i'd mig or tig weld if I were you!

  2. I would re-enforce the seam using some type of mechanical means first, e.g. screws, rivets.  Next I would coat the outer surface of the seam with a product called gluvit.  It is a two part epoxy resin, but has some flexibility when dry. This product is made to coat aluminum on boats.  By mechanically stabilizing the seem first you won't over flex the coating.  This fix should last along time, years.  Good Luck.

    Try these sources.

I don't pretend to have the answer, but a question.

Will this suffice with the stress of movement?

  4. Alumaloy.

  5. No putty glue or sealent will hold if the transom is flexing get the supports welded> First weld all the seams them no sealent will be needed>

Do it correct the first time>>

  6. Yes...Alumaloy works good or JB Weld type of product.
