I have a aqha race horse should i change the bit,or maybe tie its tongue?

i have an aqha race horse and its giving up at about 200 yds. hes a big horse and i know he has potential for the quarter mile but hes been giving no response, i was thinking on tying his tongue or changing the bit, what kind of bit should i use or something if you could please provide pictures............thank you

  1. Tongue tying only helps if the horse has problems with his bits.  My first thought would be blinkers.

    What do you run him in now?

    Does he duck in or out?

    Does he perefer to come from behind?  Some horses are just slow to get their stride. How old is he? Need more info really.

    Not to mention, some just don't have it....no matter how much we think they SHOULD.


  2. is the horse not breathing?  What do you mean he is giving up?  Does he completely quit running or just flatten out?  I could very well help you with this if I had more info.
