  1. Check with a pet store or vet.  They may have supplements you can give with an eyedropper.  Good luck.

  2. There is an inexpensive formula that you can get from the pet shop that you mix with water and feed to it with either a syringe or eye dropper or just with a spoon. Its not hard to do and they "LOVE"  you for it!!!! Mabey the first time it might freak out (Hint: use a thick glove to hold the bird while you squirt or tip it in their mouth to protect you from it biting you) but will soon know whats going on and will simply sit there while you feed it. Hand raising cackatiels in this way makes them wonderful pets.

  3. NEVER but NEVER wear a glove to handle a baby bird. For some reason most birds have an innate fear of gloved hands. A four week old baby isn't going to bite your finger off. I handle all babies whether they are being raised as future breeding stock or pet trade. Then when I decide which one I want to hand raise they accept me. Have you tried feeding the cockatiel some microwaved scrambled egg (and is mashed up) as a soft food? I have never seen a cockatiel with babies that won't eat cooked eggs. They will in turn feed the babies. Now if it is their first nest then you need to pull the babies and let her try again.

I have to assume that you have made a cardinal sin in bird raising. You have decided to raise birds and you don't even own a book that tells how to deal with birds????

  4. Do not use an eye dropper, never put any liquid in a baby birds mouth you can cause aspiration pneumonia.  I am not experienced with what to feed a baby cockatiel but you should be able to find step by step instructions on the web by searching.  Just make sure you do a lot of research and maybe talk with other tiel owners in a forum before feeding the baby .  The baby will not starve while you find the correct way to do it, rushing and doing the it wrong can cause irreversible problems.    I will have a look online to see what I can find also... Good Luck!!!

you tube has videos you can watch on feeding... www.youtube.com/watch?v=M3JzJbY3ZAo
