I want to work as a teacher not a teaching assistant. I know that states differ in their requirements.

  1. You need a teaching license/certificate to teach

  2. I'm also in Liberal Studies to be a teacher. You may need to complete a background check, tb clearance, and have taken exams such as the WEPT, CBEST, and/or CSET. Usually schools require letters of recommendation to accompany your resume.

I know that in my school district, I can get a job as a teacher with a B.A., but I also have to be in a credential program.

    Good luck.

  3. if you are not a certified teacher, no.  but you can take your bachelor's degree to an alternative certification program in your area where you are put into a classroom and paid as soon as you complete some intro "seminars".  you'll probably meet once a week to discuss current teaching trends and issues, but that's it!
