  1. you need a bathtub reglazing kit, available in most hardware stores, or get a professional to do the job for you. My guess is $150 per bathtub, it's as close as you can get to a factory finish.

If by any chance you remodeling the bathroom, make it right the first time and change the tub.

  2. You need a "Tub and Tile" paint, available at the big box hardware stores (Home Depot, Lowe's, etc).  They are made by Homax and Rustoleum.  You will need to completely remove the paint you put on, and how you do this will depend on the type of paint you used.  Good luck!

  3. I'll assume that you're talking about the outside of the tub.

Get rid of all the peeling paint by sanding. Start with 120-grit and end with at least 220-grit, then repaint.

Any paint coat needs good adhesion in order to bite into the existing paint. You can't go wrong with a good coat of oil-based paint, however latex will work fine too.

  4. You need one of the kits especially made for tubs. Don't expect factory results though. Preparation is the key to a sucessful job. If you don't get the surface properly cleaned, the paint will not stick.
