  1. I would suggest that you use a 40 watt bulb with a red tint to it...

  2. You do not need any heat at night. Beardies can easily handle temps down into the 60's at night. As long as you have a hot basking spot during the day, it will be fine. Don't bother wasting electricity with an unnecessary nighttime heating device.

  3. i also have a 55g tank for my bearded dragon and i use a 100w bulb with a dimmer for its basking spot and a 65w bulb on the cool side (although im not using the 65w light right now since it gets pretty hot during the day) and at night i just turn off all the lights and because it usually stays above 65*F at night

edit:dont use red lights they have been known to burn bearded dragons at the higher temps that they require

  4. It depends entirely on the temperature of your house.

A 100w will cause a 35% temperature increase in the tank, while a 75w will cause a 20% temperature increase.

If your house is in the 70s you should be using a 100w, because that will warm up the air temperature in the tank just enough. If your house is in the 80s like mine you should be using a 75w.

If the temperature falls below 64 degrees at night you should be using a dim red light 50w bulb or an under tank heating pad.
