I have a belkin adapter

I have a belkin adapter which connects my 2 pcs together sharing a mouse, keyboard and monitor. I recently bought an acer slimline 22 inches monitor to replace my old bulky monitor. However when I connect in the same way as before to my new monitor, the monitor does not work i.e. the screen is blank and no power light comes on - so there appears to be a problem; can you help?.Incidentally I made sure there is nothing wrong with the monitor - I tried to connect it to my laptop only (not 2 pcs together) and it seems to work.Your comments would be much appreciated - thanks.Fatima
