my evaporator is freezing up. thus not cooling properly. i searched and i cannot find a defrost element, or a timer. my question is, how is the ice removed on a refrigerator with no defroster/timer? is there some other way? it does not have a freezer compartment. it cools good for a few days, then when the ice builds up, it slowly stops cooling efficently. i know with most refrigerators, there is a cycle about 4 times in a 24 hour period, where a defrost timer, turns on a element, thus removing ice buildup from evaporator, but i swear mine doesnt have a heating element, nor could i find a timer. so my question is, is there another method? please explain

  1. you could just not have one.

i have a freezer that doesn't have one. once a year i use the stuff or move it to another freezer, and leave it open (off) to defrost. great oportunity to clean it. theyre isn't another way that I know of.
