My big saddle seat show is coming up in a month, and I was going to ride two expensive American Saddlebred Show horses that I bought in it. my first horse, Chancey, or Callaway's Chancy Pride hurt his hoof and the blacksmith took a big amount of hoof wall out. the farrier said i could ride him at home, and he is fine, but can i ride him in the show? what can i do to help him otherwise? My other horse, Cheyenne, or Westerner's magic star, is just fine, but i want to know how to set her tail, and make her lift her hooves during the rack, with she's not very good at remembering. any other show tips i should know? Thanks!

  1. If your trained horse is hurt do not compete. Do not compete with an untrained horse this is a disaster waiting to happen, unless you enjoy getting low scores and wasting gass. Wait for the next one, clean your show horse's hoof every day and keep thrush and debre from it. watch for heat and tenderness.

Work with the other horse at home before taking her out. Don't waste the time, gass, and horse's energy at a show which she is not ready for. Its better to save the money for the next show.
