  1. Sounds like a starling.  They are famous for mud nests on porches, barns, or anywhere.


  2. i am assuming just like chickens other birds lay eggs every few weeks or so and if they aren't hatching they are empty. if you don't like it you can simply touch the insides of the nest when there aren't any eggs in it and the bird will smell you and won't lay her eggs there for a longtime until the scent disappears

  3. Sounds like it might be some sort of swallow or a phoebe...both build mud nests.  They will usually lay one egg per day until all the eggs are laid and then they will sit and incubate them.  Try not to disturb the nest too much which means do not keep getting close to it as this can cause the parents to abandon it and the eggs will die.
