  1. hamsters have bad sight...sometimes they won't know who u are unless they smell you. You can't really stop her from biting and if shes biting while ur waking her up try tapping lightly on her house or cage just to make sure she knows someone is there to play with her and give her a second to wake up (no one likes being woke and have to jump right outta bed) make sure she knows it you maybe give her a teat while shes getting up so it makes her feel better.....good luck : )

  2. Is she a dwarf?  Because it's a common thing for dwarf hamsters to bite when they are woken up.  Its their instinct.  When you want to hold her wake her up gently and let her become fully awake before trying to hold her.  Or use something to pick her up with.  I used to let her go into a toilet paper tube before picking her up.

  3. Dont wake her up. She is old a grumpy.

  4. you probably woke her up, or she might just not have wanted to be picked up then. just leave her alone for a few hours then put your hand in the cage to see if she climbs in

  5. How long have you had her? Maybe she has to get use you. Most hamsters take a couple of months to get use to you. I've had mine for four months and he still gets jumpy and scared when I come up to him, although he is opening up now and sometimes he will come to me. Oh yeah, hamsters don't like to be disturbed while they sleep.
