I have a black dot in my gums???

Question

is it gingivitis or is like a bruise? i havent been cleaning my teeth very well and when i saw the black dot ive been brushing my teeth like crazy ever since. any1 have a clue on what it it is???

i've never had a black dot on my gums, but i've gotten them on like, the pink part behind my top and bottom lip. i know what you're talking about. i was really scared that i had cancer or something. i would like, try and scratch it off but it stayed, eventually it went away after a couple days and when i went to the dentist they said nothing about cancer to me. i dont know what it is, but i bet it'll go away and i'm pretty sure it's not serious. however, i'm not a doctor ?
