  1. put it in a dryer for a long time.  maybe like 2 hours?

but check time to time.  it can shrink more than you want.

  2. Make sure you get the shirt wet with warm or hot water but the hotter the water the more fading you might get, then put it in the dryer. It won't hardly shrink if it's not wet.

  3. Clothes do not shrink in the dryer; they shrink in the washer.  Back in the "olden" days, we used to shrink our jeans by putting them on and sitting in a tub of very very hot water.

Clothes must be washed in the hottest water possible in order to shrink them.  Depending on the dye that was used to dye your shirt at the manufacturer, this may be possible.  Some black dyes will run and fade when washed in hot water; then you'll have a shirt that fits but is no longer black.

You may want to consult the garment-care tag; if it says "cold water", then it means the dye may run and fade, ruining your shirt.

If you care about the shirt, and if it's an expensive shirt, you may want to find someone who does alterations.  For a few dollars, he/she can alter the shirt to fit you.
