I have a black tux(and pants) and a white shirt what color tie should i wear?

i just bought the top to my tux and i have tons of clip on and regular ties and i want to know what color will go with it?

If you are attending a formal affair, which calls for "black tie", then the choice is obvious.

If not, silver is acceptable.red also. Tone on tone is fine, but no contrasting colors. If you are wearing a cumberbund, it does not have to match your tie, but it can.

red or burgundy, that's classy. nothing too colorful or bizarre like bright yellow or bright orange, you don't want to attract too much attention away from the rest of the look. dark purple, silver, dark or light blue, really anything except for the above mentioned.
