I have a blackberry curve 8310 and can't get the PTT (push to talk) to turn off. The smiley face is on...HELP

Please give step by step instructions on how to turn this off. I have tried everything

1. Click on the Push to Talk icon on the main screen.

2. Scroll down to "PTT Is On" and click on it.

3. The PTT Status will come up. Choose "Off".

4. Save the changes.

5. It will automatically log you off.
