i just got a blackjack and i asked the guy at at&t if aim counts as internet or texting.. and he said internet.. and i have an unlimited internet plan so i used aim quite frequently. on my actual phone i used like 150 texts, and so i thought i was fine bill-wise because i have an unlimited 200. on my bill, however, i got accused of using 775 texts and going 500 over.. so are these texts from aim? it didn't say and the guy at the at&t place strictly said that aim counted as the internet.

  1. This does sound a bit weird. It doesn't cost me any internet to get on AIM. On some phones however, the internet is activated to sign on to aim. To send actual messages back and forth to your contacts, that actually uses texts. Especially if your friends use 5 messages to say one complete sentence. Hope this helps.
