a wheel clamp or better take a wheel off that's the best way

I use a "tongue lock"....it's easy, quick, I can leave it in the back of my truck, etc.

I like the guys idea of the ball mounted to the wall and then locked...good idea!!

The best thing in my view for simple and secure locking of trailers is the trailer coupler lock.  It is extremely difficult for any thief to pry or cut the lock out of the inside of the ball mount.

Taking the tires off and blocking it up helps when under long periods of not being used, but the coupler lock is best overall for detering theft.

at home i have a tow ball rawl bolted to the wall...my trailer is clipped on to it and locked ...

How do they work?  Do you just hook the trailer onto the back of your boat?

ive seen trailers parked up with just one wheel on.

I use the coupler lock - it'd be less effective if the coupler were bolted on instead of welded.

My main defense is, to have the most beat-up-looking (yet roadworthy) trailer around.  With a boat to match.

a caravan near my mums is sitting on a block on one side as the owner has removed the wheel so that it can't get stolen, but it will depend on how often you use the trailer for this to work.

you can get fairly good wheel clamps for around £50- that dont need to go THROUGH your wheels.

the only other waty is a GOOD quality chain on your rear axle to something solid, but i believe the wheel clamp will be better for the money by far

They sell a tongue lock that keeps someone from hooking up to your trailer.
