  1. No, get another box, or put him in a ball.

  2. just be quick he will be fine give him a roll off tp to hide and chew while in the box thankyou for asking and trying to learn yahoo them and read up alittle it is fun learning about habbits ect.

  3. was it a clean box , or maybe one another animal like a cat had been in or rubbed on. could be he could smell a predator on it that could kill him.

  4. maybe hes just a crazy gerbil! bring him to a pet psychiatrist!

  5. It's because you're gerbil thinks it's changing it's cage, I think. Or maybe it's happy to be in a different place... you can do it again, it won't do any harm to him to act crazy... hahaha.

  6. probably because its a new place to be

  7. Best way to deal with it is to get rid of the Gerbil completely, a set of concrete shoes will do it. GL.

  8. u learnt how to spell gerbil i see :D unless your taking out the whole cages sawdust and everything then just leave him in the cage if your taking out just his bedding then he will just sit and watch u if it helps put toilet tubes in with him or something as entertainment (my gerbils LOVE chewing toilet tubes) also u have asked sooooo many quezzies u shouldnt have this pet becoz u dont know what to do

  9. Its nothing to worry about. He was probably doing something and got mad that you picked him up and moved him. He'll be fine, and you can put him in the box again if you want. He'll be fine.

  10. Perhaps he was scared of the unfamiliar surroundings. When i clean my gerbil out i put some of the bedding from her cage into the box. This way she has familiar smells, i also put things in to keep her occupied i.e toilet roll tubes, things to chew and food. Try theses hope they help

  11. It was probably because the box is new to him. Try putting some of his old bedding into the box and put some few toys or a toilet paper/paper towel rolls in there for him. Also, have you considered getting some kind of carrier for him instead? I'd just be concerned that he could chew his way out of the box if it's cardboard or if it's not tall enough, he could jump out. I have a plastic carrier for my gerbils (critter carrier), and they go in there every time I clean out their tank. I just fill it with their old bedding, give them a couple rolls, and put their food in there. They're content until I can put them back home.
