I have a brass switch lock from the A&p rail road does anyone know anything about this rr?

  1. I'd say that if it is one of the old solid brass locks, it would be worth holding on to.  If you don't have a key then I'd say definately hold on to it and search for a key.


  2. I'm pretty sure that would be the Atlantic & Pacific RR.  This name existed during various mergers, consolodations, and purchases. But the A & P name was used around the south and southwest from 1876 to 1898, when the name officially transformed to the Santa Fe Pacific for a time. The value of your lock is hard to determine since ones that old rarely show up on E-Bay. I'm afraid that E-Bay pretty much sets the standards for value anymore. My guess here - just my guess, would be around 50 to 70 dollars for the lock, and three times that if it has a key with it.
