  1. If you would like a broadband phone line that doesn't have a monthly phone bill, I would recommend you buy a magic Jack for $39.99 and you wont have another phone bill until 1 year later for $19.99 and every year after is only 19.99

I bought it after listening to the voice quality and could detect no difference from my verizon phone line. I plug my regular analog phone in and I can call anywhere in The US and Canada free and I sent two to my friends in Australia and Germany and I talk to them free also.

I bought it at www.KingDirect.com and got it in three days here' a link:

  2. Well I am afraid that you will have to get BT to reconnect your line and there will probably be a charge, also BT are likely to put you onto a contract for the line rental and calls.

However you should be able to go to any broadband provider for a broadband service, the only trouble with some of them is, that they say you must use them for the calls as well, which you will not be able to switch.

I use an excellent broadband provider and you can find them at www.allcomm.co.uk

and once your contract with BT is up I can recommend another extremely good telecoms service provider.
