I want to know if I can have it fixed without having it checked. [I hate doctors] I was told it might be a bone callus?

  1. I have the same thing on the same finger... But I havnt gotten it checked out cause I don't feel like its a bug enough problem to go get seen.

  2. It is probably a ganglion cyst.  No matter what it is you need to see a doctor to know for sure what you have.  The doctor will tell you if you need surgery or not.

  3. sounds like a callous I had one when I wore my wedding band and was driving truck it was from the ring where my hand met the steering wheel it went away when I took my ring off when I got divorced

  4. I agree with the other poster on it possibly being a ganglion. There're two ways in which they can "remove" it - the more permanent way being surgery. The other option is to have the doctor use a needle and suck out the fluid in the ganglion; generally they come back when they are not surgically excised due to the fact that you're leaving the sack of the cyst in.

  5. I had that. It was a ganglion cyst, as someone else said. They sucked out the stuff in it with a needle, and yes it has come back a bit but not so much that I'm going to bother going back again unless it gets REALLY big.

But as with all lumps, you really have to get it checked ... if it is a cyst then they won't make you have anything done to it unless you want anyway, so there's nothing to worry about.
