  1. As a snowboard instructor, I deal with this question a lot. It is about a matter of comfort for you, but anywhere from 0-15 on both feet angled outwards would be just fine. So you can practice on your fakie riding whe you feel comfortable with that. unless you are riding for speed then you would angle both feet toward the nose of the board. my suggestion is to get on your board in your house, keep your bindings loose and move your feet around to find your comfort zone.

  2. front binding: about 15-20 deg

back binding: about 5- 15 deg forward

If you switch between right foot forward and left foot forward then you should set the back binding facing slightly backwards.

  3. Do set your back binding facing forward, it really limits your options. Especially if you are a beginner it makes it difficult to ride your heel edge and do the "falling leaf" down the hill. I think the best beginner stance is 15, -3. This means the front foot is angeled forward and the rear binding is almost straight, but just one click angeled toward the tail. This is a very good versatile binding setting that should help you learn your toe and heel turns.

  4. A normal set of angles is both angled forward with the rear binding much less angle than the front - much more common for all mountian and powder riders. Advantage is easier to learn and better for speed. Disadvantage is harder to ride switch.

Duck is when the front is angled forward toward the nose and the rear angled backward toward the tail - much more common for freestyle and park riders.

I recommend my new students set the front to +12 and the rear to +3 degrees - both toes angled slightly toward the nose and see how you like it.

    Good Luck

  5. well what you can do is put on your boots and bindings without the binding attached to the board. then stand on the board with a natural stance. now take off the bindings without moving your bindings. then mount them. now its okay to not have them centered perfectly at 0-0.
