  1. put another wheel in the cage and see what happens ?

  2. put a small cup or some type  of cubby in his cage and he will do the rest!

  3. my hamster used to do that it was funny and cute...they make their their little bed where ever they feel safe

  4. Is it the crittertrail X? I had that cage and my hamster made a nest in the wheel outside of the cage (like yours). I didn't think much of it...till it got smelly after a month. I couldn't dump all of the poo/bedding/food out cause the poo/pee was sticking it together. The wheel doesn't come apart so i had to put it through the washing machine. I gave my hamster a hose but she just went to the wheel. I gave that cage to my sisters hamster and got a different cage. If it's a crittertrail X then get another wheel and empty the wheel every week so it doesn't get stuck.

  5. I wouldn't worry about it.

If you want it to sleep somewhere else, remove or block off the wheel for a few days and create an alternative space. Does it have a house? Is it big enough? My hamster stopped sleeping in hers because she outgrew it. Anyway, wait until it moves its bed and then replace the wheel.

  6. Is it like a smaller comfy space than the rest of the cage? Does he have a small box or other place he can snuggle up to sleep? Maybe he just likes it. :)

  7. And the question is.....
