as a comparison, a one hour miniDV tape holds the data equivalent of 12 gb. 4 gb should be adequate for one session, 20 minutes. but not for an entire vacation, or long program. you will need to off-load to another media or carry several cards to swap in when needed.

Your camcorder model is not listed, so this is an educated guess.

Canon states that a 4gb SDHC memory card can hold up to 30 minutes of video in their newest AVCHD flash memory camcorders on default settings.

Your camcorder will probably be close to that estimate and record 25-35 minutes on a 4gb card - depending on your compression settings.
