  1. The camera should come with something to connect it to the computer. If you don't have one, bring the camera to the store and ask them if they have something to connect it.

  2. You'll want to look at USB video capture devices.

  3. It is possible, but it is not as easy as you think it should be.

By far the easiest thing to do would be to buy a standalone DVD recorder, and connect the audio/video outputs from your camera straight to the inputs of the DVD recorder.  You can go straight to DVD, even do a little bit of rough editing and make a menu.

The more complex route involves putting a computer in the loop.  First, you transfer the footage from your camera to the computer.  Depending on the camera and computer you have, you may have to spend some money to make this work.

Also, be aware that full-resolution video is HUGE.  If you have a DV camera (the current best choice of consumer video) then 1 hour of video will occupy 13 GB of space.  No matter how large your hard drive, that will fill it up in a hurry.

Once you've transferred the video, you'll want to edit it.  You'll need an editing program.  There may be a free one with your computer, but I promise you won't be happy with it.

After you've edited it, you'll want to transfer it to a DVD.  This is a time consuming process where you set everything up (menus, chapter markers, what plays first, what happens at the end, hidden bonus features, etc etc) then hit a "GO" button, and wait for several hours for the computer to compress the video and burn the disc.

  4. ur such a loser

  5. Yes it is definitely possible BUT the method used to transfer video from a camcorder to a computer is different for every type (DVtape/Analogue tape/DVD/HDD/etc.) of camcorder and since you have not told us the type of your camcorder it is impossible to give you definitive advice - you will no doubt receive many guesses for answers - but these will only confuse you.

  6. If you go to radio shack they will tell you where to find what you need.

  7. is it dv cam, if it's newer it should be. so then there should just be a wire that you connect them, and you should be able to take it off that if you have a program to edit on your computer.

  8. its called fire wire its kinda a side ways triangle and not alot of computers have it but once you have that you can put videos on yoour computer from your camera

  9. I'm wondering the same thing, I think it's a USB type of transfer for it but i don't have one  or i lost it :(
