If you are using and HP computer than you can go to QUICKPLAY, however one way to test your webccam is to go to this [if you are using an HP with vista]

This is a long process, but you can install AIM 6.5 on your computer and then find a buddy. You can do a video chat with them, even if they do not have a camera. So try that if worst comes to worst.
