I have a canon mv940 when i upload on to my pc and i replay it the audio and video are breaking up its working

ok from the camcorder i have change the lead but the same would it be the ieee1394 card i have in the pc? it was working good for the first three or four times i do a full clean up each day pl help

  1. You should check your manual again but most likely you have a faulty canon, take it back to the manufacturer for repair

I don't know what you mean by a "full clean up", so I can't comment on that.  I'm guessing that the problem is your disk's not fast enough - your video files are very big, so you need to transfer a lot of data quickly.  If it was working OK before, it could be that the disk's badly fragmented or, just maybe, DMA isn't enabled for that disk.  Another possibility is that you've got a CD drive that's slowing things down - if you're using it at the same time that you do your video capture, stop it!

    You can check whether your disk needs defragmenting by going to Control Panel / Administrative Tools / Computer Management   The defragmenter is under Storage.

    While you're in Computer Management you should see Device Manager under System Tools.  Double click on it and then expand IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers.  Right click on each of the Primary and Secondary IDE Channels, select Properties and then Advanced Settings.   Set every transfer mode you can get at to "DMA if available".
