I have a care credit card. only charged 300.00 less than a year ago. now i owe 800.00 i already paid over 300?

i already paid over 300.00 what i charged. Is there any federal laws to help me.

  1. It sounds as if you didn't pay the interest off of that $300.  And since then, interest has accrued on that interest, and again, and again.  Other fees have probably been charged also because you haven't made any payments.  I'm surprised the account hasn't been handed over to collections or you haven't found out about this before from mail.


  2. How are you making payments?  If you are only paying the minimum, it takes a very long time to pay off.  It sounds like you missed some payments and have acquired late fees and other extra charges.

    There are no federal laws that will get you out of this debt.  You have to pay more than the minimum -- a lot more.

  4. No, there are no federal laws against lending money, it is each citizen's responsibility to manage their own debt.
