  1. It could be behavioral, stress and territory issues often cause this behavior in cats. In that case there are pills (like kitty prozac) that the vet can prescribe which should calm him and stop the peeing. If he is not fixed he may be spraying and marking his territory. It is important you speak to the vet about this however, as urinary infections and crystals which can actually fully block and prevent urination leading to death can also cause this behavior, and your cat may show no other symptoms. The reason for this is that when it is painful for a cat to urinate it begins to associate the pain with the place of urination (ie:litter box) and pees elsewhere in an attempt to avoid it.

  2. Male cats will do that to mark a territory. But, male cats can also have a problem with crystals growing in their urethra. The symptoms are that they will start peeing in comfortable places, like on your bed. They feel pain when they pee and will try to find a comfortable place to ease the pain. If you see blood in his urine, see a vet immediately.

The cause is low acidity in his diet. There are special foods for this.

Girl cats don't have the problem because their urethra is bigger and they just pass the crystals.

I had a boy cat that almost died from it!

  3. male cats pee  to mark their territory. it is called spraying, if he is not neutered  you should get it done . It may  be too late to stop the spraying. neutering them at a younger age can stop this spraying.

  4. It seems like your cat is having territorial issues.

He doesnt feel like the territory is safely his, therefore, he's marking it with his own scent.

You can solve this by using some sort of towel to rub against his fur, and then rub the towel against some of the spots that he commonly scent marks. The scent from his fur on that spot will help reassure him.
