  1. A lot of times, cats and dogs have trouble walking when they have hurt their backs.

You can gently mash each vertebrae and if he jerks or dips down like he is in pain, then you can pinpoint what part of the back is hurting.

Cats generally heal fast, so if that is the problem, try keeping him confined to a small space for a couple of days so he doesn't walk around and strain his back more.

If that doesn't help, of course you should see a vet.

    Good luck! :)

  2. maybe its old? you can get it some sort of thing to let it rest its back legs on with wheels so it can pull itself with its front legs.  i had to do that with one of my old dogs once.  we built it but im sure you could buy something like that as well

  3. Take it to the vet. I had a cat that was fine and one day she couldn't use her hind legs. She was actually dragging them around. We took her to the vet and they said she hurt one of her disk. Like a pinched nerve. They gave her medication and stuff and let her rest. She started to walk again. But instead of her hind legs going straight, they would kinda go criss cross. The vet said she might have gotten hurt it when she jumped and landed the wrong way. Look into it. She might need surgery, I think mine needed it and the vet was just stupid.

  4. There are many things it could be.  My cat's back claw got damaged a while back and he limped for about a week.  however it never hurts to  have a vet look at it.

  5. Diabetes (common in cats) can cause weakness in the hind legs because of nerve damage,  Get it to the vet!

  6. has this come on suddenly? if so it sounds like a Tic may have attatched itself to the cat which causes paralysis and then death. If so the cat needs to be thouroughly searched for the tic then properly removed if this is sudden , search it on the net as a tic needs to be removed properly without squeezing more poison into the cat. if it has come on slowly it could be hip displacia, or arthritis, and the cat is in pain.
