My cat had kittens July 1, 2 days ago they were just fine, We came back last night to find 1 kitten dead, 1 kitten dying, 1 kitten very weak. We looked at the mom cat she had a lot of milk for her kittens but apparently they wouldnt suck milk. We have 1 that is still alive, is getting stronger. I was wondering what could've happened to them? (we have to give the kitten normal milk)

  1. Is she willing to feed them? In my experience, some cats seem to get ''jealous'' when her kittens are seen or touched by someone other than her. How is your relationship with the cat? Or has anyone other than you touched or gotten close to the kittens?

I've raised motherless-kittens on regular milk before (a whole litter of 5, actually) and they grew up just fine.  But try the special milk for kittens, it might be even more helpful.

  2. sorry but ur cat ha rejected her kittens so you'll need to feed them with special milk.

    hope this helps. =]

  3. They might not have known what to do. I know with my friends cat, she put them up to get food, and after a few days they got it.

Or they could have been really weak when they were born.

Is the weak one still alive? Try nursing it back to health. You can go to a pet shop and I believe there is stuff you can put it milk so it gets the full nutrients of momma milk :D

  4. don't give kitten normal people milk. it won't help her. go to the pet store and get some KMR kitten replacement milk and bottle feed her every two to three hours. Good Luck!

  5. Go to the vet, quick!
