If I have a second tv in another room, can I buy another catv converter box for that tv and splice into the entering cable line and get individual cable programming on two different tvs? I can't think of another way of getting two different tv program sources. Can anyone give me a better way of doing the two tv hook up?

  1. Your cable provider might not be happy if they found out, unless you buy the box through them. Does it use a smart card? They will want to install it and charge you extra. But if you can get the hardware/firmware yourself, it should work fine.

There are some cable tv systems in use (e.g. in Thailand and Laos) that only have a small cable connector on the wall (with a couple of resistors inside) which can be used on more than one tv using the built-in tuner. No converter box, so normal T splitters can be used to run extra sets.
