I have a catv converter on one tv on cable.?

If I have a second tv in another room, can I buy another catv converter box for that tv and splice into the entering cable line and get individual cable programming on two different tvs? I can't think of another way of getting two different tv program sources. Can anyone give me a better way of doing the two tv hook up?

Your cable provider might not be happy if they found out, unless you buy the box through them. Does it use a smart card? They will want to install it and charge you extra. But if you can get the hardware/firmware yourself, it should work fine.

There are some cable tv systems in use (e.g. in Thailand and Laos) that only have a small cable connector on the wall (with a couple of resistors inside) which can be used on more than one tv using the built-in tuner. No converter box, so normal T splitters can be used to run extra sets.
