I have a ccd-trv138 sony handycam and i dont see a port to connect my video camera to my computer?

i didnt get a usb cord with my video camera either and theres no ports i see thatll hook up to my computer and im wondering id i can do it some other way

  1. you use the same output that you use to charge the camera with, but instead of a plug end, it has a USB end.


  2. The Sony CCD-TRV138 is a 8mm camcorder... Analog... not digital. You will find only analog connections with that camcorder.

    Using the AV cable you use when yuo connect it to a TV, you will connect it to an analog/digital bridge... Pinnacle Dazzle if all your computer has is USB; One of the good boxes from Canopus if you have firewire.

    Warning: Analog video imported this way is not very good... But it is your only method. Firewire will probably have better results than USB.

    You can install a firewire port easily if you have an available PCI slot (desktop) or PCMCIA slot (laptop)... or, if you have a Macintosh, they have had firewire400 ports for many years.

    Firewire, IEEE1394 and i.link are all the same thing... and are not USB.
