I know that this has not been taken off of my credit report because I get a monthly updated report.

  1. This is one good reason why people should check their credit reports; the credit bureaus can't catch everything.

Just go to Experian's website and dispute the entry.

Reselling the debt will not renew the 7 yr. reporting period.

  2. The chargeoff account should drop off after 7.5 years. Chargeoff means that the original creditor has removed the uncollectable account from its asset account. If you have not paid the bill then it is still a debt and can be rectivated by a collection agency by reselling to another agency. You should contact the current  owner of this debt and make a pay-for-delete deal where you pay them and they will remove this derogatory account from your credit reports.

  3. Check at www.freecreditreport.com

  4. Its probably still on your report because you never paid the bill. If a collection agency is still after you then the charge off will keep appearing on your credit report. If you paid it off, then you need to talk to the credit report company.

  5. Request your credit report and if it's on there just dispute it. If you have a credit report from Trans Union, there should be a reference # on the top right hand side. Their customer service # 1-800-916-8800, then type in the reference #. That should transfer you to a live person

  6. It should have if it hasn't you can definatly get it removed since legally it has been longer than seven years
